Summerford-Katherine-RTF

Education: Certification in Medical Massage from the Dayton School of Medical Massage in 2007. Additional training in Myofascial Release, Deep Tissue Therapies, Swedish Massage, Neuromuscular Massage and Massage Cupping. I am also a BWC certified massage therapist.

Background: Licensed by the State of Ohio Medical Board since 2007. I am also a long time member of the Associated Bodywork & Massage Professionals (AMBP) and The National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB). Before coming to OSUMC, I offered massage in different settings, including spas, clinics, and chiropractic offices.  I started with OSUMC in 2015 working multiple outpatient locations with the Center for Integrative Medicine (CIM). In October 2016, I found my home at the Jameson Crane Sports Medicine Institute representing CIM. There, I am also a provider for referrals from the Bureau of Workers Compensation (BWC). In 2017, I became certified in Massage Cupping, which has had a positive impact on me and my patients. This modality has to ability to extend my career as well as provide deep tissue therapies for patients without the pain that is sometimes associated with that therapy.

Hobbies: I have a small business of decorating cakes that I started in 2012. I enjoy spending my down time with my family and going on road trips on my Harley.
