Experience and Interests
Missy is the physical therapy team lead for the Spinal Cord Injury team at Ohio State’s Martha Morehouse Outpatient Care. She is a lead physical therapist within the NeuroRecovery Network, a multicenter network that delivers standardized activity-based therapy across all spinal cord injury severities. Additionally, Missy is a faculty member of the Ohio State Neurologic Residency Program (since 2013) and a member of the American Physical Therapy Association and Neurologic Section.
Missy is passionate about pursuing opportunities in clinical care, strategic planning and program development, teaching and mentoring and research. She has assisted with translational research within the NeuroRecovery Network and has a drive for pursing innovative interventions that maximize recovery and improve the quality of life of the patient’s she serves. Missy is a guest lecturer in Ohio State’s doctorate program in the neurologic and advanced neurologic curriculums.
Missy is certified in performing International Standards for the Neurological Classification of Spinal Cord Injury exams, and is certified on multiple rehab technologies, including body weight-supported locomotor training, Bioness, FES Cycle and xCite NMES.
