Recognizing the rapid growth, complexity, and high acuity of in-hospital neurologic care, The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center developed a team of neuro-hospitalists aimed at providing comprehensive and expedient care for complex neurologic care over telemedicine.
Our mission is to provide high-quality hospital care by practitioners with access to cutting-edge diagnostic tools and treatments to all patients in central Ohio, regardless of physical location.
Teleneurology Program
The Teleneurology program leverages advanced technology to provide seamless neurological care across various partner sites around Ohio. With a network supported by neuro-hospitalists, our program offers comprehensive neurology services ensuring that even remote areas have access to specialized neurological care.
We offer a range of services designed to support and enhance neurological care, including:
- Gap coverage for existing neurology services
- Full-time neurology consult services
- Routine EEG reads

- Improved access to neurologic care allows patients to receive timely and specialized care without the need for extensive travel for patients and their families. We’ve been able to decrease neurology-related transfer rates by 8%.

The initial technology placement at partner sites is covered by our program, eliminating financial barriers to adoption. We invite healthcare providers and hospitals to join our Teleneurology program and provide exceptional neurological care to patients across Ohio and beyond.
Current partners
We plan to rapidly expand our teleneurology offerings through partnerships with regional and community health systems and disseminate the care provided by neurologists at tertiary academic centers into the community. These partnerships span multiple hospitals and healthcare providers, reflecting our commitment to enhancing patient outcomes through collaborative efforts.
