About the division

The Division of Neuromuscular Disorders brings together physicians, scientists, nurses and therapists to develop new technologies and better treatments for people with complex neurological conditions. We offer one of the largest nerve and muscle centers in the United States.

Our board-certified physicians have specialized training in neuromuscular disorders such as muscular dystrophy, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), peripheral neuropathy and myasthenia gravis. Some of our physicians further subspecialize in even more rare and uncommon neuromuscular disorders such as Lambert-Eaton Myasthenic Syndrome and Emery-Dreifuss Muscular Dystrophy.

ElsheikhBakriWelcome from Division Director,

Welcome to the Division of Neuromuscular Disorders. We worked hard to provide a collegial, cross-disciplinary environment with a patient-centered focus that provides exceptional learning and professional opportunities. Ohio State is home to cutting-edge research that provides a platform for the academic development of residents, fellows and faculty. Both basic translational research and active clinical trials seek to find answers and develop potential solutions for neuromuscular disorders. I encourage you to learn more here and contact our Division to learn more about or research and educational opportunities.
