A critical mission of the Neurology department at the Ohio State Wexner Medical Center is to provide highly skilled diagnostic services and personalized, comprehensive care for neurological disorders, at a level of expertise typically only available at academic tertiary medical centers. The following list of clinics were developed to support those living with neuromuscular disorders and their caregivers.

Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS)/Motor Neuron Disease Multidisciplinary Clinic and Research Program

Goal: To provide patients with accurate assessment and diagnosis of ALS and related motor neuron diseases and access to the latest research and clinical trials.

This multidisciplinary clinic is lead by a physician-scientist and includes neuromuscular neurologists, nurse practitioners, a registered nurse, a physical therapist, a respiratory therapist, a genetics counselor, a social worker, a dietitian, a speech and language pathologist and a clinical research coordinator. This allows patients to receive the highly specialized care they need on the same visit day. A major focus of our program is to connect the individuals whom we serve in clinic to the critical research efforts that are happening in our laboratories and throughout the world.

Chemotherapy Induced Peripheral Neuropathy Clinic

Goal: To improve quality of life and expand research efforts for patients diagnosed with a peripheral neuropathy secondary to a chemotherapeutic agent through a multidisciplinary clinical approach.

This clinic offers comprehensive care for patients with chemotherapy-induced and associated neuropathies (CIPN). We aim to improve quality of life in those with CIPN using a multidisciplinary approach with our team of neuromuscular neurologists, physical therapists and clinical pharmacist. In addition to evaluating and treating CIPN, we also hope to build understanding and open doors to future treatments through collaborative research.
